Hi, I got strucked by this cool deployment tool. I'm new here in the forum, can somebody guide me where I can download the package for debian? I want to start the installation not using the VMware version. Thanks for the help. :)

Hi,

the best way to do this.

Get the getting started manual:

Code: Alles auswählen

http://download.uib.de/opsi4.0/doc/opsi-getting-started-en.pdf
And follow the steps in the documentation. For detailed information you can look in the official manual:

Code: Alles auswählen

http://download.uib.de/opsi4.0/doc/opsi-manual-en.pdf

You can also look at the OPSI wiki: wiki/userspace:opsi-server_base_installation

If I have some free time I might be able to update the CentOS 6.3 installation (the one I did previously) to a CentOS 6.4 installation with some new insights. Compared to some other software manuals the OPSI manuals are quite clear and not filled with nonsense ;)

From the BOFH archives:
It's a calm morning network-wise when I arrive at the office to prepare for a site visit and to continue defending my company's recent bad name and business from the potential takeover.

I realise once more why I discourage site visits normally. Their only purpose is to pretend to a customer that the stuff really does work like it says in the brochure by finding a site that's worked out where the manual went wrong and fixed it.

As I said, this is normally the case, but with OPSI not quite! :D
