Unable to get geometry for disk

Hi

We are trying to install Windows 7 x64 on a new model of computer that we bought (Lenovo M83z).

When i select the package "win7-x64" it runs the hwinvent and then an error occours (before reading drivers).
The error says: "Unable to get geometry for disk '/dev/sda'".

We have tried with 2 different machines but with the same result.
If I check the BIOS it can clearly see the HDD.

Any sugestions?

Regards,
Soren

Hi Soren,

haven't seen that message for a long time.
What version of bootimage and netboot product are you using?

Hi Niko

We are using win7-x64 version 4.0.7.1-2

I actually just found a workaround to get the installation working.
I manually wiped the disk with a Windows 10 USB-key and then retried the netboot-install.

Hi Soren,

are the clients shipped without anything? We had sometimes in the past problems with fabric-new harddrives. We have tried to fix this issue with some workarrounds. If you have the problem again, can you post us a bootimage.log from the run with the error? Please to info(at)uib.de.

Hi again

The clients are shipped as assembled AIO's with Windows 7 pre-installed.
I will most likely install one more tomorrow and then I will collect the data you need :-)
