OPSI problem every morning

Hi,
Anyone encountered this? We cannot connect to OPSI configed every morning. Probably because of so many computers are reporting to the server when they are turned ON? Our administrator restart the service to make the service available. Thank you.

Hello rmtevesjr,

problems of that kind are possible but fortunately can be worked around quite good..
An easy approach would be to just update the soft- and hardware on the server side.
For a more fine grained approach you should look at the info page of your server and try to identify the bottlenecks.
If you use the file backend and have over a few hundred clients you should think about using the MySQL-backend because of the increased performance.

We recommend support contracts for productive environments. Problems like these are easier to deal with for us on such a ground.

By the way, is it easy to migrate from file-based to MySQL? Do I need to reinstall client agent?

No reinstallation needed. You can use opsi-convert to convert from one backend to another.

Thats right. You will find more information about opsi-convert in the manual or you can just run it with -h / --help.
