Hello,
I've just installed the opsi server from the boot CD everything is going fine I guess.
I add a client and tried to install :
  • netboot products: hwinvent --> ok
  • Product configuration : hwaudit + python --> always stay on "Setup"
here is the opsiconfd log:

Code: Alles auswählen

[4] [Jun 05 16:11:42] Client '192.168.0.2' did not send cookie (opsiconfd|257)
[4] [Jun 05 16:11:42] New session created (opsiconfd|940)
[4] [Jun 05 16:11:42] Authorization request from testpc.local.domain@'192.168.0.2 (opsiconfd|350)
[3] [Jun 05 16:11:42] Failed to resolve hostname 'testpc.local.domain': (-2, 'Name or service not known') (opsiconfd|367)
[4] [Jun 05 16:11:42] Host login attempt with username testpc.local.domain' from ip ''192.168.0.2', but name resolves to '[]', ip verification is disabled (access granted) (opsiconfd|380)
[4] [Jun 05 16:11:42] BackendManager created. (opsiconfd|387)
[4] [Jun 05 16:11:43] Creating unix socket '/var/run/opsipxeconfd.socket' (OpsiPXEConfd.py|165)
so the inventory works fine when booting with PXE, but hwaudit never seems to launch, maybe i'm doing something wrong?

thanks a lot for what "seems to be" a great work :)

Alex

Hi ytsejam,

give us the log file from the client.
You will find it
a) at the opsi-configed Tab 'LogFiles' Sub-Tab 'clientconnect' or
b) at the Client c:\tmp\logonlog.txt or c:\tmp\opsiclientd.log

Actually I only have the opsiconfd tab populated and nothing in clientconnect tab... :?:

You're talking about "c:\tmp",but my test pc client is a linux one :? Maybe is it simply the reason why nothing happens?

Hi,

yes

See: http://www.opsi.org/
"opsi is a Desktop Management System for Windows workstations based on Linux servers."

Integration of Linux clients is planned but it will be not available this year.
so sorry

I guess I didn't really understood how opsi is working, I thought everything (hwaudit etc...) was running through PXE... but never mind, the main goal for me is to use it with Windows PC at the end ;)
I'll give a try this week with a windows client and will be back maybe for more questions !

thanks again
