Slow client startup

Hi,

I currently deploys opsi in my business and on certain items, the installation causes a slowdown at the start of some clients.
The slowdown appears before the opening session and before the launch of opsi client.

My park is heterogeneous with windows XP, 7 32-bit and 7 64-bit.

Are there any random problems during installation which causes this kind of complication.

Regards,

Hi nirale33,

one thing that blocks the login process for some time is the login blocker. But this does usually not slow down the boot process of Windows.

Could it be an over-ambitious anti-virus software?
I had some not so good experience with some that made my PC unusable for a few minutes after start.

Kind regards

Niko

Hello and thank you for your return

We use F-secure as anti-virus.
The problems happens before the start of windows and therefore the anti-virus start.

The customer can't enter their login/password before five or ten minutes.

Hello nirale33,

is during all this time a lock shown in the upper right corner of the login screen?
If this is the case you are seeing the opsi login blocker.

With kind regards

Niko

We have sometimes the lock and sometimes not but the opsi windows does not appear.

Is there a opsi log file on each computeur in which it's possible to find information?

Make sure you have the DNS client service running, and any other services opsi might be needing. When I had the DNS client service turned off it was taking ages before the login screen showed up.

Hello nirale33,

you can have a look at the info page of the client. https://fqdn.of.client:4441/info.html - login with your local admin.

And you can have a look at C:\opsi.org\log\opsiclientd.log.

Kind regards

Niko
