Who translated this?? :(

Anyway, you probably have not installed this client with OPSI, haven't you? Then you should find the way to set the credentials for the pcpatch user!! Look at this part of the manual!!

I am getting this when trying to install the client agent! I am running the service_setup.cmd from a mapped drive to opsi_depot!!! The error log i attached is from the temp folder on the local machine i get the screen that looks like its installing but then just closes! i have went threw the setup MULTIPLE times!!!! I am getting close to abandoning this and trying OCS inventory :(

I had to make changes to the smb.conf file so i can map the share on windows 7 but dont know why that would affect this! I am thinking the error that i need to figure out and fix is this!!

Warning: Existing service connection will be reopend. This may cause critical errors. Do not do this, if you are not really shure what you doing.

[4] [Feb 11 09:27:43:282] opsi service version could not retrieved, perhaps no connection

thats where it looks like its failing and closing the installer! I have tryed running opsi-setup --cleanup-backend but still no luck!!!!

Hi,

your problem is:
Error: retrieveJSONObject --- opsi service problem ----> {"message":"Opsi authentication error: Forbidden: Backend authentication error: Backend authentication error: PAM authentication failed for user 'adminuser': ('Authentication failure', 7)","class":"OpsiAuthenticationError"}
Can you login in opsi-configed with adminuser?

If not, then have a look in opsi-getting-started:

Yes I can log into the admin interface and the computer gets added to the console but cant deploy anything and like I said it doesn't look like the client actually installs on the pc.

I think the username error is caused by the config file dosnt have the password in it for the client to install without prompting. It opens a windows asking for username and password when you install it and if I put it in wrong I get that error each time I enter a wrong password plus the first one. If I enter it correct I only see that one error I am thinking its just for the first time it prompts for the password I think the part that is causing the issue is at the end

Warning: Existing service connection will be reopend. This may cause critical errors. Do not do this, if you are not really shure what you doing.

If I could figure this error out I think it would fix it but I am out of ideas what to try!!!! I hope someone out there can understand what this error is telling us!!!! The server looks like its running fine I can log into it and the client gets added to the server its just the client never really gets installed on the desktops for the server to communicate with them!

Thanks for everyones time!!

Yes, but when I really understand this right it goes like this:

You run service_setup.cmd
Then you will be asked for the usercredentials.
But then you try to login with pcpatch user.

pcpatch is the user for the shares not for opsi-administration.

I have used pcpatch and adminuser!! the error I am giving you is when I log on as adminuser when the installer prompts for user Id and password I think pcpatch is the one that says username didn't have permissions in the log so I am using adminuser!!
