Windows XP install does not work any more

Hi,

I was using OPSI to install Windows XP to a VMware Workstation, to test software and installers I make. Unfortunately recently it stopped working. I don't know when it stopped though.
In the config-editor I can select my "PC" to install XP. When the PC then boots from the network, it seems fine until the big Opsi-logo is displayed and some kernel-info. There the virtual PC hangs forever.
I see this kernel-info :
opsi linux bootimage 20130207 (kernel 3.6.11)

Any suggestion what to do to install XP again ?

On real PC's it still works.

Thanks,

Koenraad

You might want to edit your default.menu pxe file, on CentOS 6 this file can be found in the following location:
/tftpboot/linux/pxelinux.cfg/default.menu

If you remove 'quiet' and 'splash' you might see the errors that make the VM hang. Your append rule will then look something like this:
append initrd=miniroot.bz2 video=vesa:ywrap,mtrr vga=791 lang=en

Thanks for your reply,

It's an install started from the configuration editor, so it should be "install" that I would have to modify.
I did remove the splash and quiet words from that file and now Opsi is installing Windows XP. I don't undrstand, but if that's what it takes, I'm happy.
I will try again with those words again in the file and report back. When I will do that I don't know though.

Anyway, thanks for a clarification of the structure and the suggestion.

Koenraad.
