Hi all!,
I check OPSI features, and read technical documentation.
I work as server administrator and use nagios for servers monitoritation. All server are from differents Customers, so it´s not on the same LAN. For connect to each one we use NO-IP and port forwarding configured on routers. Is there any configuration to set-up OPSI with NO-IP addresses, i think that i have to add it manually.
Suggestions? Thx!
Marcelo.
OPSI configuration on Server Farm
Re: OPSI configuration on Server Farm
Do you want to use OPSI to deploy software to these servers? Means, these servers are your OPSI-Clients? Then you may forward port 4441, since communication uses dns/fqdn, no-ip is no problem.jmherrer hat geschrieben: I check OPSI features, and read technical documentation.

If not, please describe your scenario.

Re: OPSI configuration on Server Farm
Thx bmsoft for your reply.
This is my scenario
We have 150 servers monitored with nagios. We do mainteance task such as updates (windows/av)/sql task/ roles/ routers ports /etc.. connecting one by one. This means that we enter remote desktop, login into server and check all services and daily task.
We are managing a possible scenario that manage all updates with a centraliced console (OPSI) and add hardware / software inventary.
I need to know how to configure no-ip addresses manually on OPSI (Console) to check this servers.
-I have to install opsi client on servers & foward port server IP Address to 4441, but how can add manually on OPSI console?
-Any technical manual that handle this problem?
Thx, Marcelo

Re: OPSI configuration on Server Farm
There is no difference between no-ip fqdn or comp.domain.tld, so there is nothing special.jmherrer hat geschrieben: I need to know how to configure no-ip addresses manually on OPSI (Console) to check this servers.
use no-ip fqdn as "client name" in opsi configed

as stated in the manual, you need the more ports (137-139, 445). Port 4441 is helpful, when the opsi-client-agent is up and running, since you can trigger installations (fire events).
