Hi,


When I'm trying to wake up a client from opsi configed i got this error message (popup window):

Backend missing data error: Failed to get hardware address for host 'xxxx.yyy.zz'

and

when i'm trying to install client agent from server, i get this warning message:


ODistrib:/opt/pcbin/install/opsi-client-agent # ./opsi-deploy-client-agent -u "KDB\\hege" hp1321r.kdb.hu
Password:
[warning] Failed to get hardware ethernet address for host 'hp1321r'

(But the install is working)

Hi,

the opsi server need the the MAC of the client in two cases:
1. to create the tftp start file for a netboot product via pxe
2. for a WakeOnLan broadcast

While the installation of the opsi-client-agent the installation script tries to get the correct MAC of the client and transmit it to the server. But the installation will not fail if it fail to get the MAC for any reasons.

In this case you have the possibillity to edit the MAC in the opsi-configed.

Ok, thank you, i understand it.
But we have a test opsi server, where the opsi-client-agent install script is working correctly. But on the new opsi server i get the warning message ([warning] Failed to get hardware ethernet address for host 'hp1321r')
So i don't know where is the difference between the 2 servers. Maybe I forget to set something at the installation of opsi or the problem is elsewhere.
