opsi-client-agent – How do I connect a Windows client to my opsi server?
Verfasst: 02 Jun 2025, 12:04
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to manually set up the opsi-client-agent on a Windows client and connect it to my opsi server (running on Linux), but I’m stuck on the configuration step. I have set up repositories on my server and want to see the files I'm currently offering.
So far, I have:
Successfully installed the client
Verified that the opsiclientd service is running
Located and opened the opsiclientd.conf file with administrator privileges
My problem:
I’m not sure what exactly I need to configure inside opsiclientd.conf to connect the client to the server.
Some questions:
What should I put under the [global] section? Just the server’s IP or FQDN?
Do I need to disable certificate verification if I’m using a self-signed cert? If so, where do I put that?
After saving the file, do I need to restart the service manually every time?
Is there anything I need to do on the server side (firewall, port, opsi settings) to allow the connection?
Right now the opsi Client Kiosk on the Windows machine doesn’t show anything, and trying to access https://<server-ip>:4447/rpc in the browser doesn't work either.
Also is there an easier way to do this? Because if we will use Opsi I'd need to do this on 5000 devices, which is not possible.
Any help or example config snippets would be really appreciated!
Best regards,
Patrick
