hi,

I am using opsi to deploy xp pro and windows 2003 r3 32 bit systems and it works great. How can I deploy windows 2003 64 bit systems? Is it possible?

TIA,
natxo

Hi,

yes it is possible - we are testing this at the moment,
But until now there is no 64-Bit Loginblocker for the NT5-Familiy (win2k - win2003).
We are working on this.
Also there are some other restrictions deploying 64-Bit Software, because opsi-winst is 32-Bit.
I think base products will be published in the testing area (http://download.uib.de/opsi3.4/testing/)
this or next week.
You will find informations about this in the 'news' sub forum.
'Stay tuned'

I saw that it has been uploaded to the experimental stuff. I downloadeded the opsi file, copied the i386 and amd64 folders from the installation disk and it worked!

It is quite funny to see windows 2003 r2 net-install itself on a dell r710 when you know you cannot install it from the installation cd (no drivers for the disk/array controller on it).

I had not said it yet: THANKS!!!

This is quite interesting for us because we have a corporate license for 2003 std edition and now that lots of apps work in 64bits we can build bigger citrix servers (we can go up to 32GB in 64bits now, so more users pers server, fewer citrix servers, smaller electricity bills, ...) And 2003 will be around for a few years so why not use it instead of burning some cash in 2008.

- for windows 2003 r2 you also have to copy the CMPNENTS folder from the second CD
- major known issue: Loginblocker is not properly working under WinXP-64 /W2003-64 Bit (see german posting viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1128)
