opsi is not released for Ubuntu 14.04 right now.
It will be released with opsi 4.0.5.
Ubuntu 14.04 comes with a (reduced) samba 4 which changes the behavior of the samba shares which lead to problems, if you have no special samba share configuration.
So please wait for opsi 4.0.5 before any update to Ubuntu 14.04 on your opsi servers.

Hi Guys,
following workaround works for me:

Psst... don't want to spoil anyone but opsi 4.0.5 is live since quite some time. This versions adds support for Ubuntu 14.04 and Samba 4 and you can now use
opsi-setup --auto-configure-samba to just have it work

I have same problem after the ubuntu 14.04 upgrade.
The problem is in the /opt/pcbin/install/ because samba 4 config not allowing execute exe files from this directory/depot share.
I just add execute to all exe files with chmod +x /opt/pcbin/install/*/*.exe and now all install finished correctly.
If you install a new version of a package the permission will set to default again (rw,rw,-). You need execute the command again.

This has to do with the samba configuration, if I remember correctly. So, you might want to try the workaround m.pfeiffer posted in february.
