Windows XP BSOD - Stop Code 7B

Beitrag von inszekt_ »

Hi

I'm trying to install a Windows XP SP3 HUN. After copying files to the HDD, Windows throw a BSOD with 7B error code. I think the problem is that there aren't any SATA dirvers ( I found the following lines in the bootimage log file:

[5] [Jan 17 17:54:19] Searching driver for PCI device '440FX - 82441FX PMC [Natoma]', id '8086:1237' (Tools.py|994)

[2] [Jan 17 17:54:19] PCI Device directory '/mnt/opsi/install/winxppro/drivers/pciids/8086/2829' not found (Tools.py|1003)

Is it possible I copy the missing driver files to the appropriate directory (for example to the SATA controller I create a /opt/pcbin/install/winxppro/drivers/pciids/8086/2829 directory) or put the files into the drivers/additional/<additional-SATA-driver-dir> directory, and then run the create_driver_links.py script?

Copy your driver files into /opt/pcbin/install/winxppro/drivers/drivers/preferred
After that run the script: /opt/pcbin/install/winxppro/create_driver_links.py

Yes I tried this method yesterday, and it works like a charm - I used the additional directory, but it's irrevelant.

Thanks for the answer.

Hi,
what component formatting the client hard drive to NTFS?
This is done by the windows setup according to the settings in the unattend.txt

where can I configure the partitioning settings?
The partitioning is done in the setup.py
