Build boot image
Build boot image
I now have to manage an OPSI installation I've not set up myself and I experience a problem : the current boot image (20140919) doesn't support the NIC (I219-LM) my new machines have.
So I have tested other images I have found (20151209 and 20160322), but I always got an error about EFIVARS.
As far as I have unterstood, I should update things on the OPSI side in order to get this error fixed, but I don't know whether it's safe or not. I don't want to ruin all our production, and I was thinking about upgrading OPSI but later this year. I'm not necessarily ready to do it just now. I was only supposed to update a few packages and add new computers. But I'm stuck ...
Is there a way to rebuild its own miniboot in order to get a homebrew 20140919 with just a more recent kernel ?
Or is there another image that could suit (not too old, not too new) ?
Thanks for any kind of help.

Re: Build boot image
If I use "opsi-backup", I can safely revert back to the currently used version ? I don't have much informations, but my predecessor seems to have tweak a few things and I would like to be able to go back if I can't port them in a newer version.
Re: Build boot image
I finally managed to update the netboot product and use the most recent bootimage.
But I have another problem : is there a way to "prune" the hardware records ? I deleted the old machine, but when I recreate it, many parameters still remain (fomrer MAC address, the NIC of the new machine appears as a new one) and most of all, the Vendor/Model.
But it's a new model and it wasn't updated after the hardware scan.
What can I do ?
Regards
Re: Build boot image
have you deployed hwaudit or hwinvent? Normally by every run the settings should be overwritten.sbmk hat geschrieben:updated after the hardware scan

Re: Build boot image
No, they aren't. I think it's because another tool is used for inventory management. OSPI is only used for OS and software deployments.
