program says webcam not detected

My integrated webcam wont work? I have an acer laptop. The manual said it had an integrated webcam but whenever I try to use it , a program says webcam not detected. Is there any software I need to download?

It's not a question about opsi, but this kind of devices have sometimes switches to turn on or off the webcam/mic...etc.. If you have not one, you have to look in your bios, perhaps you have disabled your webcam.
