Install at shutdown dosnt work!

I have went into opsi config and set the opsi-client-agent Configuration to loginblockerstart = off on_shutdown_install = on and on_shutdown_install_set_policy = on

I set a application to install and shut off the pc and it shutsdown normal and at bootup or login it installs at that time!!!! This is the only thing holding me back from deploy this! It dosnt work for it to install before login in a school environment needs to install at shutdown or end of the day!!!


Please help!!

Hello mmorris,

after you set on_shutdown_install to On please re-deploy the opsi-client-agent. After that everything should work as you expect.

After making the setting changed in the console I set the package to install again and fired on demand and it installed on the workstations but it still don't install before shutdown.

As far as I know, "installation on shutdown" is co-funding module.. Maybe you do not have a license?

The last release features it sounded like it was added as a feature?? Can someone clarify this as if that don't work I don't know if I can use the product and I work for a school district so funds are VERRY LIMITED!!!!

In your case who shuts down those computers? Users themselves or ..? Install on shutdown sounds like great feature, but you can use poor man's way: schedule updates for your packages and add package shutdownwanted.. Then instead of shut downing you reboot your computers.. After reboot OPSI installs everything and after all executes shutdownwanted so turns off pcs..

Also you can schedule setups + shutdownwanted and use wake up on lan at night..

I am new to opsi I am running FOG but it has to many limitations and OPSI looks a lot more powerful Anyways where or how do I schedule installs I only see option to install and fire on demand??

By writing „schedule“ I meant setting „setup“ some product for your computers.. When clients start those products are installed.. You can control when those clients starts (or reboots).. There is a great project „OPSI PackageBuilder“:
