opsi Featurepack 4.0.2-2 Final Release

Beitrag von d.oertel »

Dear opsi user,

We are officially releasing opsi version 4.0.2-2, which is the second part of the feature pack 4.0.2.
This version is released for free as a Stable Release.

As was the case with the first release of 4.0.2, this is not a minor release, but provides extensions to the
existing version. The upgrade can be performed using the previous opsi4 repositories and requires no migration,
which is different from most large releases. This new release can be used as soon as it has been imported.

A comprehensive overview and detailed description of all the new features and all changelogs can be found in the Release Notes manual:
http://download.uib.de/opsi4.0/doc/opsi ... tes-en.pdf

Here is a brief overview:

* opsi 4.0.2 is released now also for the following distributions:
** Ubuntu 12.04
** Redhat 6
** CentOS 6
** UCS 3.0 (Samba 3 / Samba 4)
** OpenSUSE 12.1
** OpenSUSE 12.2

* A new opsi Virtual Machine has been released. It was built in Ubuntu 12.04, and already has the opsi-Nagios-Connector built into the VM.

The installation instructions that accompany this release can be found in the 'opsi-getting-started' handbook.

* an improved opsi-configed
* an improved hardware inventory
* advanced driver integration
* a Security Fix for Windows Netboot Products
* a new program 'opsi setup detector', which determines the type of Installation
* an extended opsi-winst

* Installation notes
The products that are published in the release are dependent upon each other. Therefore, you should install all the parts
together and do not try to install a single part all by itself. The installation requires no special work. The updates occur with the normal
update of your opsi server and opsi products. Please update the opsi server first and then update the opsi products.

regards
