Hey,
I already asked this questions, but i dont realy understand this part.
"opsi focuses an unattended setup process for Windows (since this is the easiest way of installations for heterogeneous hardware), but opsi as well provides a netboot
product for an image based Windows installation,
which may be used to backup special installations for
example."
I Want to know, Can you save images on the opsi server and for example select PC-Jack on the server to reinstall an image on his computer?
I already followed the manuel but i dont understand this part http://download.uib.de/opsi_stable/doc/ ... -structure
Im not sure that our PC's support Netboot? How can I test this?
On my bios settings I see Netbios in Priority startup boot
The pc's are HP Microtowers 8200 and Minitower 8000.
Can anyone help me?
Can you please if its possible with the images, give short steps what i need to do?
Thanks!

Re: Images on Opsi Server
Hi,
the part of the manual you are pointing to describes the unattended Installation.
If you really want to work with images (what is not recommended) you have totry the
netboot products 'ntfs-write-image' and 'ntfs-restore-image'.
If you are looking for the neboot options you will find it at the BIOS.
In some cases you have to activate something like 'netboot' or 'pxeboot' and after a reboot you will find this in the boot priority list.

Hi,
there is not so much at the manual:
http://download.uib.de/opsi_stable/doc/ ... ntfs-image
Just set the ntfs-write-image netboot product to setup and restart your computer. If the network boot works the linuxbootimage will be loaded and the first partion will be stored to the server.

Re: Images on Opsi Server
Hey all,
I have an additional question regarding the selection of ntfs partition which have to be imaged.
Where do we have to configure, which partition and how many partitions have to stored? I´ve
read the manual concerning the usage of ntfs-write/-restore and "write-local-ntfsimage.py".
If we dont configure a value for "partition", all partitions should be imaged but this doesnt work.
Only the first partition /dev/sda1 is imaged.
I´d really appreciate it if someone could help me!
Thank you very much in advance.
