today we published new packages for opsi 4.2 testing.
With the new opsi-linux-bootimage some changes have been made to the default behavior.
On the one hand the language setting in the bootimage is now set to english by default. This can be changed server-wide with the server host parameter "opsi-linux-bootimage.append" with the value "lang=de".
On the other hand the file grub.cfg is revised. Please make sure that the file "/tftpboot/grub/grub.cfg" contains the latest changes. If no changes have been made to the file, "/tftpboot/grub/grub.cfg.opsi" can be copied to "/tftpboot/grub/grub.cfg". A call to "opsi-setup --init-current-config" patches the address of the config server into the new grub.cfg.
Furthermore, there is a file "grub-custom.cfg" in which user-specific changes can be made and thus own startup entries can be created.
The new opsi-configed 4.2.22.7-1, now released in testing, now also uses compression and messagepack for requests to the server, which theoretically provides a very small performance boost.
Furthermore, some bugs have been fixed:
- Creating and removing a licence pool - product relations works again.
- Groups can be created and edited again
- A wrong error message during driver upload no longer appears
- Session information can be requested normally again
- Regularly checking the connection status of the clients works properly again. Before, this has slowed down the use of the configed extremely.
