opsi 4.3 Stable Release

Beitrag von a.schmidt »

Dear opsi community,

after the testing release on 2023/10/09, we are officially releasing opsi 4.3 as a stable version today. For over two years we have been working on modernizing opsi and making it more secure and reliable than ever. opsi 4.3 brings many improvements and new features - here are some of the highlights of this release:
  • MySQL backend and UEFI support free: the MySQL backend is now free and more powerful. UEFI support is now also free of license fees.
  • New design: All opsi components now have a modern, fresh design and new colors; we also have a new logo.
  • opsi-configed: Revised user interface and impressive performance increases; light and dark mode available.
  • opsi message bus: Reliable communication between server and clients, fluent working in remote terminal sessions.
  • Two-factor authentication for opsi administrators.
  • Health-Check: Check the state of your opsi infrastructure and perform upgrade checks before updates.
With this release, we proudly present the new opsi-WebGUI, which we officially release with opsi 4.3.
The opsi-WebGUI offers easy management of opsi features in the browser and supports mobile devices, so you can conveniently control your opsi environment from your smartphone or tablet - no matter where you are.

Discover all the new features and details in the release notes in our latest blog post at blog.opsi.org.

If you want to upgrade from opsi 4.2 to 4.3, you can find detailed upgrade instructions in our documentation on docs.opsi.org. We will provide security-related updates for opsi 4.2 until 2024/06/30. If a pre-release version of opsi 4.3 is already installed on your opsi server, please switch to the stable repositories now.

We are proud of opsi 4.3 and hope that you will benefit from the many improvements.
Thank you for your support and trust in opsi!

Your uib team
