Anyway, this reminds me. I have seen a similar issue.
This was back in the day when ELILO was used for the UEFI boot.
If you set the video memory to a size that is too large it will hang.
This is because the PCI 64-bit addressing option had to be turned off when using ELILO.
Is there such an option at all in these HP machines?
