Install to eMMC drive

Hello!

I'm using OPSI in a high scool in Hungary.
We've just got several Aspire ES1-131 netbooks, with 32 GB eMMC drives inside them.
As I see, OPSI bootimage lacks the mmc kernel modules, so I cannot install netboot
products on these machines.

Opsi version is 4.0.6, bootimage is 20160111-1.

Is it possible for mmc_block.ko kernel module to be integrated?

Hi,

it is possible to add them.
With a support contract its done within short time. However without any kind of support contract you will have to wait until something in the kernel has to be changed.

The next time i change somethink in the kernel config I will remember it and let you know.

Hello!

We have got the same problem. We have bought the OPSI UEFI-Module and can't install our Surface 3 with eMMC-drive.

OPSI-Bootimage said that there is no HDD.

Is there any solution yet?

Hello Andre,

which Version of bootimage did you use?
Perhabs you try a bootimage of the experimental reporsittory from here:
http://download.opensuse.org/repositori ... erimental/

If the problem still there, send us the bootimage.log.

you send Version from python-opsi. The Version from opsi-bootimage you can get like this for example:

dpkg -l | grep opsi-linux-bootimage

Hi,

I've installed the experimental bootimage. Now the system is hanging after it has loaded the miniroot.
I got a cursor in the left corner and then nothing happens and i can't do anything.

Hi Andre,

then I'd suggest going back to the stable bootimage.

We had quite some Surface tablets (mostly the Pro version) working with opsi I am unsure if we ever had version 3. Maybe not.
If you need quick support please contact us through one of our support contracts. Otherwise you'll need to wait some more...
