Hi

yes the version is old. Back in the day we decided to keep ist in this version to avoid compatability issues with the hwaudit. The Output changed with 02.17.

So next time in will fix this and use the default Ubuntu 16.04 version 02.17

With Ubuntu 18.04 wenn will also update the Bootimage to this version.

Kind of strange that your machine segfaults with the stick version but runs fine with an pxe boot.

Cheers

Ok, great.

I found a CD that I had made from opsi4.0.7-64bit-client-boot-cd_20170502.iso. I booted it on an E6430, and lshw runs without any errors. Windows 7 installs just fine in legacy MBR mode as well.

If I boot the same opsi4.0.7-64bit-client-boot-cd_20170502.iso from a thumb drive made with rufus, dd, or unetbootin, lshw segfaults.

Thanks for the feedback.

It is strange how lshw reacts on the medium it runs from.
Nevertheless I will look into a current lshw binary in the bootimage.

Have an nice weekend

Just an FYI, I booted off a CD burned with opsi4.1.0-client-boot-cd_20180309.iso, and lshw runs fine (as expected).

However, when I insert a USB flash drive, lshw crashes when I run it:

Code: Alles auswählen

Apr 18 12:59:52 opsi-client kernel: lshw[1707]: segfault at 7fff8d302fbf ip 00007f071a0f6998 sp 00007ffe8d302f38 error 4 in libc-2.23.so[7f0719fa9000+1c0000]
I remove the USB drive and lshw runs OK again
