where is patcha?

Beitrag von natxo »

hi,

I have installed opsiserver 3.4 through aptitude and I am following the opsi manual.
I have succesfully configured pxe booting for a win2k3 installation, but now I want it to be unattended. According to the manual, I need to use the command patcha to generated the unattended.txt file.
Unfortunatately /usr/local/bin/patcha does not exist in my opsi-server installation. What package do I have to install to get it?

TIA,

Natxo

Hi,

no - you misunderstood something.

Based on the opsi OS-products like win2003_3.3.1-4.opsi
the installation is unattended automatically because there is a unattend.txt included.
The chapter about patcha is only technology background to understand what happens inside the bootimage
(where you will find the patcha).
So please read:
http://download.uib.de/opsi3.4/doku/ops ... v34-en.pdf
Chapter 11 OS-Installation: Complete the base package for Windows
http://download.uib.de/opsi3.4/doku/ops ... v34-en.pdf
Chapter 7.1.8. Structure of the unattended installation products

Perhaps it is a good idea to start with winxppro before installing win2003.

ok, thanks for your reply. So If I want to customize the unattended.txt the right one to do it is the one in the folder 'custom', right?
