PXE Installation mit M.2 NVME
Hallo zusammen,
wir bekommen in letzter Zeit Hardware mit M.2 NVMe Speicher. Leider funktioniert die PXE Installation damit nicht (vielleicht liegt es aber auch an etwas anderem).
Der Computer bleibt beim Punkt stehen, wenn er erfolgreich den Miniroot.bz2 geladen hat. Danach ist auch kein Neustart mit STRG+ALT+ENTF mehr möglich. Der Rechner hängt sich so gesehen komplett auf und nur noch ein Kaltstart lässt den Rechner booten.
Leider kann ich kein Log oder ähnliches vom Client holen, da er ihn an diesem Punkt noch nicht schreibt bzw. übermittelt.
Die Pipe unter /tftpboot/linux/pxelinux.cfg wird anscheinend gelesen und ist damit nicht mehr vorhanden.
UEFI Boot ist an, Secure Boot ist natürlich aus.
Es ist ein X299 Board.

Have you looked at the bios options? Perhaps "above 4G decoding" (64-bit pci stuff) needs to be turned off.

Ich würde jetzt vermutlich mal prüfen inwiefern es Updates für die Board-Firmware gibt und versuchen dort die aktuellste Version einzuspielen. Es ist manchmal erstaunlich wie alt die Firmware der Geräte ist

Again, can you make sure 4G decoding is off in the bios?
It seems to be somewhere in the boot menu, on the same page as "fast boot" (?)
There is also a fw 2002 released earlier this month, with the helpful "Improve system performance and stability." in the release notes.
